From the author of Slaughterhouse 5
Shipwrecked on a bucolic island in the Galápagos, a band of humans become the only survivors of a disease that has rendered the rest of humanity infertile. The ghost of a Vietnam War veteran watches over their lives, as natural selection reverses the problems that brought humanity to its knees. Slowly, they become furry sea mammals, with much smaller brains and much simpler lives.
With his characteristic wry humour, Vonnegut skewers the very qualities which humans value in themselves, presenting a vision of the future that is darkly funny.
