"I picked this one up for a class last semester. It wasn't written in a style I personally enjoy, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it is a really well written, entertaining book. It's not surprising that Braddon's works are considered a classic. Much like many early mystery novels the mystery is less in "who did it" than in the details surrounding the situation, so if you're looking for a book that keeps you guessing the "who" until the very end it may not be the best choice, but otherwise it's a very fascinating mystery to unlock as you read along.
